"Who is this person?" you ask? Let me introduce myself......

February 5, 2019

Good morning to any and all who are visiting my blog page. This is a new thing for me, but something I have wanted to try for a long time. Without going into much detail about it all, I want to tell you what you can expect from my posts in the future. As the title of my blog  says, I simply want to share some times when I was blessed to be able to "just sit with someone," and to share times when I have needed someone to just sit with me.

As I grow older, very often my mind seems to wander back in time from when I was a little girl, all the way to who I am now....an elderly lady who has lived a full, rich and blessed life. As I traveled along the pathway of life I learned many, many lessons from various times and happenings. So I ask you to wander back with me to some of those times.  Times of joy, grief, wonder, happiness, fun, quietness, and so many other ways. Most of all I hope to be an inspiration to some of you, whether it be in the physical, spiritual or any other way.

The following is just an introduction to who I am and what I hope to do with this blog. But, first I want to thank a young lady who was willing to "sit with me" and put this blog together.  I don't claim to know much about a computer, but hopefully with her continued help when she has a spare minute, this blog will be one you will enjoy, and want to come back to often.

Just a brief introduction to who I am......number seven in the line of nine children who lived in very hard and lean times, right on down to the present time of abundance for me.  I had loving parents who somehow provided "just enough" for us, and I am so grateful for them and the wonderful morals they instilled in me.

I was very honored to graduate from High School as Salutatorian of my class.   Then went to work outside the home, met and married a wonderful Christian man, the father of my three children. Lost him very suddenly at age forty-five. Went back to work again outside the home, met and married another wonderful Christian man who became the only Grandfather my Grandchildren knew.  He passed away at age 67, and is missed dearly by all who knew him. Since then I have remained a widow, enjoy life with my children, five Grandchildren and four Great Grandchildren, and many wonderful friends who are all a great help to me as I journey on through the senior years of my life.

I could go on and on about all the things that have happened in my life down through the years, some of which I hope to share bit by bit in this blog.  I feel very blessed to say, even through the sad and hard times, and the wonderful joyful times, I wouldn't go back and change a thing. Each day of my life has been a lesson from God, and I am so grateful for His unconditional love, mercy and grace. Without him I couldn't be, nor would I even want to be where I am today.

I hope you will come back to read and visit with me my first memory of getting to "just sit with someone....a very special someone to me until this very day." I was five years old at that time.  (hint: A sweet baby is involved in the next post/story!)

Until then, I hope you will be aware and take notice of the times when you are called to "just sit with someone." I know they will be blessed by your presence, and I am sure you will think of times you were blessed to have others "sit with you."  Maybe you will feel like sharing a bit of those times with me. It really means so much!

From the Bible--Job 2:13 -- Job's three friends saw the importance of "just sitting with Job"......and so they did....for seven days and seven nights, before even saying a word.  (Not a direct quote....my paraphrase)

Remember to "Rejoice and be glad in this day!" ..... Alice
